Who needs a song of the summer when you’ve got a soda for the summer. The fine folks in Winchester have been experimenting with their tasty concoction in recent years. In 2023 they’ve cooked up a new Ale-8-One for your tastebuds.
A limited edition Peach flavored Ale-8-One is coming to a Kroger near you, beginning May 8. It will feature the signature ginger flavor you’ve come to love and know from Ale-8-One, with a twist of “sweet, sunny peaches.”
“For almost a century, Ale-8 has been a staple product of the Bluegrass, delivering on flavor and quality to our loyal consumers. Our growing portfolio of flavors is a direct result of our community-focused mission, giving consumers what they want with ingenuity at the forefront,” Daphne Phipps, innovation director at Ale-8, tells the Courier-Journal.
The peach flavor comes on the heels of their 2022 summer release: Blackberry Ale-8. The company regularly distributes seven different varieties, including orange and cherry. The bottling process of the bright orange soda is mesmerizing.
A Kentucky staple, the delicious mix of ginger and citrus was created by G.L. Wainscott in 1926. Once almost exclusively consumed in parts of Central and Eastern Kentucky, you can find Ale-8’s served in signature green bottles across the Commonwealth.
You don’t have to be from Kentucky to enjoy “A Late One,” just ask Will Levis.
