Louisiana Tech defensive lineman Keivie Rose received an offer from Ole Miss and defensive line coach Randall Joyner on Wednesday. The 6-foot-3, 303 pound prospect announced his intentions to enter the portal on Twitter.
He was a first-team all-conference performer in 2022 as a redshirt junior. He registered 24 total tackles, 18 solo, with four tackles for loss and two sacks.
This past season, Rose played in just nine games. Despite this he still managed 24 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sack. He was Conference USA Honorable Mention in 2021 when he finished the year with 25 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack. Rose was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2019 from Henderson (Tex.) where he was named 9-4A-I Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
He redshirted in 2019, playing just one game for La Tech. He then appeared in 10 games in 2020.
Arkansas, TCU, Colorado and West Virginia have also offered.
Ole Miss has a talented group of defensive linemen. But depth is always needed.
Isaac Ukwu could be another EDGE defender for the Rebels along with Rose. The Rebels offered the James Madison defensive lineman on Tuesday. Jared Ivey became a difference maker last year after breaking into the two-deep. The 6-foot-5, 265 pound prospect finished the 2022 season with 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Now he is being counted on as a leader in the room and a cornerstone member of Pete Golding‘s defense.
No one questions Jeremiah Pegues‘ athleticism or effort but another year learning under Joyner and analyst Brandon Deaderick should provide some healthy returns. He should be a handful in the middle alongside NC State transfer, Joshua Harris.
