Tweets Of The Day

One day after requesting a release from his Michigan National Letter of Intent, 2024 four-star center Papa Kante met with Alabama head coach Nate Oats.

Kante — a 6-foot-10 forward with a 7-foot-4 wing span — originally signed with Michigan during the early period in November.

A Senegal native who moved to the United States in 2019, Kante is the No. 57 overall player in the 2024 class, according to On3, and Michigan’s highest-rated signee. He’s the No. 6 center in the country and No. 3 player in Connecticut.

Michigan only has one remaining signee for 2024, Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne four-star guard George Washington III, the Gatorade Player of the Year in Ohio. A former Ohio State pledge, Washington is the No. 111 player nationally per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Kante’s recruitment is wide open, so expect more suitors to line up.

Papa @papaamadoukante , who helped lead @SouthKentHoops to a AAA , yesterday decommitted from Michigan. He would like coaches to know that he’s wide open in his recruitment. https://t.co/3krLbkMBLy pic.twitter.com/BmIcvKbUqR

A look at all 12 Michigan touchdowns against Ohio State over the last two seasons. The Wolverines won 42-27 in 2021 and 45-23 in 2022.

Ohio State fans would like to forget the 12 touchdowns Michigan scored against them the last 2 years.

Here’s a reminder of ALL of them.

Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter knows tweaks will be essential in year two of his system. He has a higher level of familiarity with the players, which will help as well.

Always adapting. Always improving.

Quote Of The Day

Dickinson’s passing was almost underutilized at Michigan. Using his post-ups as a decoy makes sense, designing action away from the ball where he can be the setup guy. (In the final clip above, that’s exactly what Michigan did to set up a 3, and notice how Dickinson waits to throw the pass until he’s engaged the help-side defender.) He’s seeing the game a play or two ahead, much like a great point guard. Michigan did use Dickinson to initiate DHOs, and not only does he set good screens, he knows how to get set and avoid moving screens.
