Tennessee Titans minicamp has barely begun and Will Levis is already turning heads — and he’s got a highlight reel to prove it.
Joining his fellow rookies in Nashville to unofficially begin his NFL career, the former Wildcat showed off his quick release while commanding the offense sporting his Titans practice uniform for the first time.
Take a look at the footage:
“Fun. It’s the first time playing ball in a long time, it’s the game we all love,” Levis said of his start to rookie minicamp with the Titans. “It’s an opportunity to just come out here and play, learn. Just getting to know the guys, getting to know the coaches, the offense. There is a lot of work to do, but we’ve gotten a lot of good work in the last few days.”
Kentucky fans are familiar with Levis’ approach to the game and the intensity he brings to the table. His new teammates, though, are learning that on their own.
“I’m scared to touch the remote because he was the first one in there,” wide receiver Colton Dowell said upon joining Levis at the team hotel. “He was just looking at his iPad, studying plays. And our remote hasn’t moved. He’s a very intense guy, but he really wants to make the most out of this opportunity he’s been given.”
Tight end Josh Whyle was the recipient of a leaping grab from a Levis pass, one so impressive that it actually ended practice 10 minutes early on Saturday.
What did he think of his new quarterback’s ball placement?
“It was pretty darn good, I’d say.”
“My approach is to just get better every day, get here and learn,” Levis said. “I haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg of what’s to be needed to know here as a quarterback. Regardless of how today and yesterday went, I’ve just got to keep improving every day. Put the past behind me, learn from my mistakes and just continue to get better, be the best leader I can be.”
