In the midst of a lengthy wave of offers being sent out by USC this week, the Trojans have offered one of the top playmakers in all of America. Class of 2024 Midlothian (Tex.) four-star wide receiver Bryant Wesco went to Twitter Wednesday night to report his USC offer.
Wesco is the No. 34 overall prospect and No. 9 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 7 player in Texas.
On3 rates Wesco higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Wesco is the No. 25 overall prospect in the country, the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 6 player in Texas.
Something that makes USC’s offer a bit more interesting is that it was just over one month ago that Wesco announced his top 8 schools. Wesco’s list of top schools include Arkansas, Clemson, Colorado, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.
The numbers for Wesco pop out
In his junior season, in 12 games, he hauled in 56 passes for 1,072 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 19.1 yards per reception and roughly 90 yards per game.
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder holds several 27 total offers and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Oklahoma as a major favorite to land a commitment from Wesco at 97.0%.
There have been two On3 predictions logged in favor of the Sooners.
On3 NIL Valuation for Wesco
Wesco currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $113K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
USC’s 2024 class
To date, the three commitments in the 2024 class are Los Angeles (Cal.) Sierra Canyon four-star Xavier Jordan, Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge four-star tight end Joey Olsen, and McKinney (Tex.) three-star running back Bryan Jackson.
Also, as of right now, there are 20 prospects in the class of 2024 who are currently favored in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to land with USC. A good portion of them visited USC this spring and/or are planning official visits in the summer.
The Trojans are currently set to host 17 official visitors in the month of June, primarily scheduled for two major visit weekends. The staff will hope for similar success as last cycle when they landed 10+ of their June official visitors.
USC finished the 2023 class ranked inside the top-10 and Lincoln Riley and staff have started off on the right foot with an opportunity to repeat that feat in the 2024 class.
