It’s a tough day for the Will Levis haters and losers. The Danny Kanells of the world have tried tearing down Will Levis, but the Vegas oddsmakers aren’t listening. The former Kentucky quarterback is trending in the right direction at the right time, only nine days ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft.
On Sunday Levis was +1000 to be picked No. 2 overall. Two days later Caesar Sportsbook changed those odds to +180, making him the top choice to go No. 2 overall, ahead of CJ Stroud.
Caesars is not the only place where the line has moved. Over at DraftKings, Will Levis is +210 to go No. 2 overall, trailing only Will Anderson. He’s also the top choice, ahead of Stroud, to be taken with the No. 4 pick, currently held by the Indianapolis Colts.
The fine folks at CBS Sports crunched the numbers from Caesar Sportsbook to show the dramatic change that’s shining a brighter light on Will Levis.
The Carolina Panthers traded up to take the top spot in the NFL Draft. It’s universally agreed they will select Bryce Young with the No. 1 pick. The Houston Texans are right behind them and need a quarterback. Stroud has been penciled in to the Texans for almost the entire pre-Draft process, while Levis stock has ranged from No. 4 overall to the second round.
The line movement is interesting, and seemingly out of the blue.
It does not matter if you prefer Mel Kiper, Todd McShay or Daniel Jeremiah, none of them have as much at stake as the folks in Vegas. Those buildings are big for a reason. They know what they’re doing. It’s always wise to follow the money and right now, the smart money is on Will Levis to be a top two pick.
Will Levis to the Titans in New ESPN Mock Draft
Tuesday morning ESPN published an exercise where their top two NFL Draft prognosticators, Kiper and McShay, took turns picking players for each team through the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. Neither had received the recent memo on Will Levis. The Kentucky quarterback fell to No. 11 overall to the Tennessee Titans, a franchise Levis visited last week. Kiper made the selection for Tennessee and had this to say about the quarterback.
Thanks for not taking my guy, Todd, and leaving him here for me. The Titans could get one of the steals of the draft. Levis is a little bit of a gunslinger, but he hasn’t come close to his ceiling. He is my second-ranked passer in this class. With the right infrastructure around him, he is going to thrive. Tennessee has playmakers to help him. Now it needs an offensive lineman (or two) on Day 2.
The NFL Draft is just over one week away. KSR will be at Union Station in Kansas City when the action begins Thursday, April 27 at 8 pm on ABC, ESPN and the NFL Network.
